Claude Juteau possesses some 15 years of experience as a professional hunting guide in different regions of the country, that is to say in the Far North, the Anticosti Island and the Alberta Prairies. It all began when he was hardly old enough to walk and was still stumbling in the woods trying to follow his father Aime Juteau. He was only a child when his great passion for nature, hunting and fishing became evident. He dreamt of celebrating his twelfth birthday to officially be allowed to obtain his deer-hunting permit. Thank you dad for passing on your love of nature to your son Claude and for accompanying him to the Eastern Townships for his very first deer hunting expedition. No hunter could ever forget his first trophy.
In order to be able to carry out his ambitions to live from the product of hunting and fishing, Claude registered at the Game Warden School of Mont-Laurier. He obtained his best results ever and successfully graduated in 1992. As is to be expected, his classmates were nature addicts and many of them will become his lifelong friends. One in particular will even introduce him to his sister. Quite a good match since they will marry a few years later and have two little girls who will fill their lives with happiness. So it appears that for Claude love is somehow always related to hunting.
Diploma in hand Claude goes looking for his very first job and is offered one as a hunting guide for an important outfitter who operates in the Canadian Far North. Armed with confidence in himself, proud of his recently acquired knowledge and certainly looking forward to the exceptional and exciting opportunity that awaits him, Claude leaves for this faraway and arid area. From that moment on, he would be living his dream looking for herds of caribous and practicing the most beautiful occupation there is. Evidently you could not expect him to ignore that on the Caniapiscau river, catching the most sought after fresh water species in North America is an everyday occurrence. He will never forget the incredible catch he realized there. During the next 5 years he will work in this very vast land, earning himself an excellent reputation in the trade.
Then, always looking for new challenges, Claude moved on and left the Canadian Far North for Anticosti Island, universally recognized as a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts. He will work there for the next 6 years as a professional guide for white-tailed deer.
After Anticosti, Alberta and its white-tailed deer trophies awaited Claude. He will guide there for the next 5 years, making the most of his knowledge, his competence and his experience to satisfy the most demanding hunters in North America.
After his last year in Alberta, Claude was approached by Michel Breton who proposed him a new project. He was overjoyed and could not resist the offer to produce with him a DVD entitled “Michel Breton dans le Grand Nord canadien”. Another rewarding experience he could add to his résumé.
Currently Claude is working on an ambitious project called “Dream Hunt”. Thanks to the confidence and participation of their sponsors, they will continue to live their common passion while allowing other passionate hunters to live the impossible dream and to capture the big game of their life. |
